Asian Seismological Commission
The Asian Seismological Commission (ASC) is a regional commission of the International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth’s Interior (IASPEI), which in turn is affiliated to the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG).
About the Host
NRIAG is a national astronomical, geophysical and environmental sciences research institute and has been established since 1839 bouluk moved to Abassyia in 1860 and in 1903 to Helwan became the headquarter for NRIAG and from that time it undergoing to continuous and alternative update with new technologies, equipment’s and experience in all Geophysics and Astronomical fields. NRIAG hosts the one of the very early Seismic stations in the world since 1898.
Moreover, NRIAG has strong cooperation with many international institutions and universities all over the world. Numerous projects and studies are completed in collaboration with national and international academic partners, which qualify the staff of NRIAG for the highest level of experience. Furthermore, NRIAG has organized several successful international conferences and workshops in both Astronomical and Geophysical fields as well as the seismological training and workshops, worth to mention that NRIAG has hosted the memorable first General Assembly for the African Seismological Commission in April 2016. It will be a good chance to be held the 13th ASC in Sharm El-Sheikh the Egyptian city in the Asian continental.
